About this blog page

I started this blog because I was frustrated with the lack of a current, regularly updated webpage to find out what's going on around here in the City of Niles.  Since I've been running the blog & facebook pages for the Family & Children First Council of Trumbull County and Kidding Around I figured what's one more?

This blog is my little hobby but it seems to be of help judging by the page hits.  I'll gladly add a post about your business or promote your event, simply email me at kiddingaroundtco @ yahoo.com or contact me through facebook

Courtney's Law Petition

As most Niles residents know, Courtney Miller was killed in a horrible car accident.  As the accident happened out of state, her family was not notified of her passing before images of the crash were visible on the Internet.   Her family hopes to one day get a law passed that will make taking photos or videos and posting them anywhere without a families consent, illegal.

Washington Snow Hill Sledding Riding Plans

From June 2013 minutes
Mr. Doutt asked that the sled riding hill by Washington Elementary School be preserved and
realigned for safety measures.

From October 17th Board meeting

Snow Hill—Mr. Doutt said that approximately $12,000.00 to $14,000.00 will be needed for
stone signs for the snow hill. He has been in contact with Diane Sauer regarding a presentation to the “100 Club” for a donation for the sled hill. This would be the first step in the process.
Tony Perrone suggested that the Board Members discuss this matter and provide direction. Mr. Doutt will have Mike Barrett, a local contractor, review the plans for the snow hill. A lengthy
discussion ensued. Mr. Doutt and Mr. Perrone will work on a proposal for the “100 Club” and will bring the results to the next Board Meeting
